Quinoa Channa Pulav

1 Cup Garbanzo Beans
1/2 Tsp Salt

Wash and overnight soak garbanzo beans in water. Cook the garbanzo beans in pressure cooker for 3 whistles with salt.


Yields: 3 Cups of Cooked Garbanzo Beans

2 Cups Quinoa
4 Cups Water
1/2 Tbsp Salt

Wash Quinoa, add water and allow it to boil. Once its starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium, add Salt and allow it to cook for 18 minutes. Allow it to cool.


2 Tbsp  Oil
1" Cinnamon
2 Cloves
2 Cardamom
1 Bay Leaf
1 Star Anise


1 Big Onion, Chopped


6 Green Chilies, Chopped into Lengthwise 2 Pieces
1/4 Cup Mint Leaves, Chopped


1 Tsp Garlic, Grated
1 Tsp Ginger Grated


2 Tsp Channa Masala Powder
1 Cup Water
1 Tsp Salt


Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, bay leaf, anise and fry for few seconds.

Add onion and fry for 5 minutes in medium flame.

Add green chilies and mint, fry for a minute.

Add ginger and garlic, fry till the raw smell goes away, for about 2 minutes.

Add channa masala powder and give a quick stir.

Add cooked garbanzo beans, water, salt and mix well, close the pan and allow it to cook for 10 minutes in medium flame, switch off the stove.

Add cooked and cooled quinoa and mix well.

2 Tbsp Lemon Juice (1 Small Lemon)
4 Tbsp Cilantro Leaves, Finely Chopped

Add cilantro leaves and lemon juice and mix gently.


Taste Note: Tastes AWESOME
Yields: 9 Cups
