Barnyard millet rice (Kuthirai vali)


500 grams Barnyard millet

Rinse the rice thoroughly, soak for 5 minutes.

9 cups of water.

Bring water to rolling boil, add drained rice and stir gently. Cook Uncovered for 10 minutes. After 7 minutes, stir very often to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.


Taste Note: Tastes AWESOME. Not sure why our parents / grand parents moved from this good tasting grain to white rice though !!!
