Tindora Quinoa


2 Cups Quinoa
4 Cups Water
1/2 Tbsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
4 Tbsp Ground Flax Seed Meal (Optional)

Wash Quinoa, add Water and allow it to boil. Once its starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium, add Salt, Turmeric Powder and Ground Flax Seed Meal and allow it to cook for 15 minutes. Allow it to cool.

2 Tsp Sesame Seeds (White)

Dry fry Sesame Seeds in a heated pan until its golden brown and keep aside.

1/2 Tsp Oil
Asafoetida
2 Tsp Yellow Split Peas
2 Tsp Urad Dal
4 Red Chilies

Add Oil in a heated pan, add Asafoetida, Yellow Split Peas, Urad Dal, Red Chilies and fry till the color of the dal changes. Allow it to cool.

Make Masala Powder out of dry fried Sesame Seeds and fried Dals.



1 Tbsp Oil
100 Tindora (Kovakkai), Chop into thin round slices

Heat Oil in a pan, add Chopped Tindora and fry for 50 minutes in medium ( till it turns crisp ).



1 Tsp Oil
1/2 Tsp Mustard Seeds
2 Tsp Yellow Split Peas
1/4 Cup Cashew Nuts
2 Green Chillies, chopped into lengthwise 2 pieces
Curry Leaves
1 Tsp Salt

Heat Oil in a pan, add Mustard Seeds, when it splutters, add Yellow Split Peas and Cashew Nuts, fry until the color of the dal changes.

Add Green Chilies and Curry Leaves and fry for few seconds.

Add Fried Tindora and Salt and fry for few more seconds.

Add cooked Quinoa and mix well.

Add Masala Powder and mix well.

2 Tbsp Chopped Cilantro
1/4 Cup Dry Roasted Unsalted Peanuts

Add  Cilantro and Peanut and mix well.

Taste Note: Tastes Awesome.

Yields: 10 Cups
